Event Details

The Sixth Biennial Kansas City Conference on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) is sponsored by the Center for Global and Multicultural Education (GAME) and the UMKC Women’s Center and will take place October 14-15, 2010 at the Embassy Suites on the Plaza. . The theme for the 2010 conference is “Activism for Human Rights: From Issues to Action.” Featured speakers are Barclay Martin, music director/composer for the film Zamboanga: Poverty/War/Music; Elizabeth Alex, lead anchor at KSHB-TV; and Jolie Justus, Missouri State Senator, 10th District.
